Our Pinot Noir is aged in both new and neutral French oak casks and allowed to mature in bottle before release. With the notable terroir of the Sta. Rita Hills as its backbone, our Pinot Noir shines with a beauty and grace often described as delicate and feminine. A soft, velvety mouth leads to a lengthy finish, bringing pleasure long after the last sip.
Notes from the Winemaker - Deep, ripe black plum aromas abound in the nose. Hints of currant and mocha mingle. A slightly mentholated essence lifts the aromas of wild strawberries. On the palate the black plum flavors mix with cherry and pomegranate. An iron-like quality grounds the fruit with old-world style.
Strange Family Vineyards also offers a unique White Pinot Noir, made from gently pressing Pinot Noir grapes away from the skins to avoid the transfer of color. Featuring characteristics similar to its red counterpart, the clarity and crispness of our White Pinot Noir makes it stand out as a wine that both white and red wine lovers will truly enjoy.
Notes from the Winemaker - Exotic aromas of passion fruit and lychee are surrounded by a white lilly freshness. On the palate a surprising weight comes into play. Rich notes of orange plum and yellow peach are wrapped in a plum-skin tartness. A subtle nutmeg flavor lingers on the long mineral finish.
Our wines will be available to mailing list members on a limited basis starting this Winter 2018.
